In the tranquil city of Echternach in beautiful Luxembourg, one of the biggest meetings of these great cars took place from 7 to 9 June, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Jaguar XK series.
We remember - 1948 the presentation of the XK120 at the Motor Show in London. The crowd of vehicles was enormous, in some cases the queue of the Jaguars jammed out onto the road. The team of instructors, including Philip Porter, had their hands full instructing the drivers to avoid traffic chaos on the main road through Echternach. More than 200 cats were also found in the large courtyard of Echternach Abbey. They came from Germany, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Ireland and other countries accompanied by the predatory cats of the E-Type, who held their meeting at the same time. Two Jaguar C-Types were also in attendance and were warmly welcomed with the words "C-Types not allowed here". British humour is simply not to be missed. The weather this weekend was unfortunately a bit mixed. Rain and a grey sky alternated on this third day of the festivities, but this did not detract from the good mood. It was simplistic, joking and marvelled at. A successful day.
